Bybit opened USDC-funded stock trading on October 12, 2026, giving eligible users outside the United States access to more than 1,000 US-listed stocks and ETFs. The service purchases actual shares through a brokerage arrangement rather than offering another tokenized-stock product.
Key takeaways
- Alpaca Securities LLC holds the shares and executes orders.
- Fractional purchases begin at 5 USDC.
- Zero-commission advertising excludes a separate service charge.
- The shares cannot be transferred onchain or used in DeFi.
According to The Defiant, customers receive the economic benefits of the underlying securities, including supported dividends and corporate actions. Shareholder voting is unavailable at launch, with voting rights planned for a later phase.
How Bybit’s USDC stock trading works
Customers fund purchases using USDC in their Unified Trading Account. Stock orders are paid for and settled in USDC at the account level, while Alpaca handles settlement of the underlying securities.
Bybit’s press release lists Apple, NVIDIA, Tesla, Micron Technology and Invesco QQQ among the available securities. Users can manage eligible stock and cryptocurrency positions within the exchange’s ecosystem.
The service does not support onchain transfers or DeFi use. It differs from the xStocks products previously listed by Bybit and Kraken: those share-backed tokens allow onchain withdrawals but do not give holders direct equity ownership.
Supported securities have weekday trading around the clock, including overnight sessions, subject to holidays and product availability. Market orders execute only during regular US market hours; orders submitted outside that window wait for the next market opening.
Alpaca holds the shares and handles execution
Alpaca Securities LLC executes orders and provides securities clearing, settlement and custody. Customers receive an economic interest in the purchased securities, rather than derivatives or synthetic exposure.
The press release identifies Alpaca as operating under the name Alpaca Clearing and as a FINRA and SIPC member. Supported corporate actions include dividends and stock splits, although some actions face restrictions at launch.
Mauritius-regulated brokerage and access restrictions
Operating the service is Infra Capital Limited, which functions as an introducing broker and holds regulatory approval from the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius through license GB23202169.
Users must complete Advanced Identity Verification and reside in an approved jurisdiction to gain access. Prohibited regions include the European Economic Area, India, Mauritius and the United Arab Emirates, plus broader exchange restrictions that rule out the United States, mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Canada, among other locations.
Service fees, fractional purchases and dividends
Bybit’s USDC stock trading carries a 0.1% service fee on executed order value, with a minimum charge of 0.35 USDC per order, despite its zero-commission advertising. Eligible fractional purchases start at 5 USDC.
Cash dividends are converted from US dollars into USDC and credited after applicable withholding tax. Stock dividends increase customers’ holdings, and stock splits adjust their positions to reflect the corporate action.
