Azerbaijani exports to Armenia in the first nine months of 2026 amounted to a total value of $23.4 million, the pro-government media outlet APA reported on Monday, citing data from the State Customs Committee. The figure accounted for 0.10% of Azerbaijan’s total exports. Nonetheless, the rather modest total marked a significant increase from the previous year, which was less than $1 million.
The growing trade ties between Armenia and Azerbaijan began in 2025, following the Washington summit, which brought together President Donald Trump, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
The summit resulted in an agreement to establish the Trump Route, a proposed transport link connecting Azerbaijan to its exclave of Nakhchivan through Armenian territory. It also included the initialling, but not the signing, of a peace treaty to end decades of bloody conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The bulk of the Azerbaijani exports has been fuel and grain, much of which came from third-party countries.
Armenian exports to Azerbaijan began in September 2026, with a shipment of aluminum foil. In total, Armenia’s exports to Azerbaijan in 2026 have remained relatively minimal, with APA reporting on Monday that the total value for the first nine months of the year was $96,460.
