GOYANG — A trade show offering a comprehensive view of the future of the textile and sewing industry at home and abroad, spanning advanced functional materials to artificial intelligence-based smart manufacturing technologies, has opened.
KINTEX said on the 21st that TEX+VISION 2026, the International Textile and Sewing Industry Exhibition, officially opened at KINTEX Exhibition Center 2. The show, co-hosted with Seoul Messe and the Gyeonggi Textile Industry Association, runs through the 23rd of this month and presents the entire industrial process in one place, from materials sourcing to production and processing, laundering and maintenance.
This year's exhibition puts particular focus on industrial textiles and high-performance materials that have expanded beyond apparel and fashion into mobility sectors such as automobiles, along with smart manufacturing and AI technologies and eco-friendly sustainability solutions.
Large-scale support programs for opening sales channels have also been arranged to generate tangible business results. During the event, export consultations with invited overseas buyers will be held alongside one-on-one order consultations involving major domestic fashion and apparel vendors and leading fashion brands, helping participating companies secure sales channels.
The TEX+VISION Conference 2026 is being held in parallel to help the industry respond to new technologies and environmental regulations. On the opening day, participants heard about strategies for responding to eco-friendly regulations and the circular economy in the global textile industry, as well as a road map for advanced materials including ultra-high-temperature ceramic fibers. On the 22nd, sessions will cover AI- and 3D data-based manufacturing and the digital transformation of the textile and fashion value chain, supporting companies in setting future strategies.
Other events tailored to industry practitioners include a technology seminar by the Korea Laundry Association, a briefing on MMS certification standards and a seminar on innovation in the textile and fashion industry in northern Gyeonggi Province.
"This event goes beyond a simple exhibition to serve as a business platform where participants can see the convergence of advanced materials and manufacturing technologies and generate actual deals," KINTEX CEO Lee Min-woo said. "We will spare no effort in helping participating companies and buyers from Korea and abroad read the latest industry trends and expand into new business opportunities."
