MANCHESTER, Jamaica— Police have launched a manhunt for a licensed firearm holder accused of shooting his wife at their home in Newark near Spur Tree, Manchester, Tuesday morning.
The injured woman, said to be in her 30s, has been admitted at hospital in serious condition.
Residents say about 10:00 am, loud explosions were heard coming from the couple’s home.
“I heard the gunshot and saw a man jump in his car and sped off. The lady called out for help and neighbours took her from under a clothes line and rushed her to hospital. She was pinning out laundry when she was shot,” a resident said.
Detectives processed the scene mid-afternoon Tuesday and said the woman was undergoing surgery up to 4:00 pm.
