The 7th ranking for the Texas high school football season is out.
Here’s a look at who we think will be the Top 25 teams in the state heading into Week 8 for UIL teams and Week 9 for the private schools.
The Top 25 teams stayed pretty much the same. Three top-25 teams lost last week: Waxahachie, Port Arthur Memorial and Denton Guyer — the latter falling out of the poll.
There is one Top 25 showdown this week with No. 4 North Crowley vs. No. 6 Waxahachie in what could be viewed as the top team in 6A in the DFW area.
Four Texas teams are in the High School On SI Power 25 National High School Football Rankings.

1. Galena Park North Shore (7-0)
Previous ranking: 1
We are often asked why North Shore is No. 1 and not, say, Allen or North Crowley? Well, the Mustangs won the state championship in the state’s largest division and have not lost this year.
