The football world is in mourning on Wednesday, following the news that former NFL defensive end Allen Bailey has passed away at the age of 37.
Bailey's death was confirmed to TMZ by his brother, Alford Bailey Jr. He was reportedly found deceased on Tuesday in his Florida home by his wife. It's believed he died of natural causes.
Bailey was a third round pick out of the University of Miami in 2011. He was a constant on the Miami Hurricanes defense, racking up 31 tackles for loss and 19 sacks over his last three seasons in college.

Allen Bailey played eight seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs and two seasons with the Atlanta Falcons
The defensive end parlayed that into becoming the 86th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs selected him, and he went on to repay them by spending eight seasons with the organization as a role player at first, then as a full-time starter a few years into his career.
Bailey finished out his NFL career with the Atlanta Falcons, where he spent his last two seasons before being released in 2021. He never formally announced his retirement, but instead quietly put a bow on a solid NFL career.
Bailey did well for himself and his family, earning $38.123 million over the course of his professional career, per Spotrac. There aren't many records of investments or brand partnerships that Bailey took part in, therefore his final estimated net worth is unknown.
