Drake approached over George Foreman’s $6m Texas mansion with 50-car garage

Could Drake be the next owner of George Foreman’s spectacular Texas mansion? The property, once home to the legendary heavyweight boxer and entrepreneur, is now on the market for $6 million, offering a rare combination of celebrity history, luxury living and an extraordinary car collection space.According to a report by the Daily Mail, Evan Compean, founder of the Compean Group, which is handling the listing, has already contacted representatives for Drake to explore whether the Canadian rapper might be interested in the property. The approach comes as the Grammy-winning superstar already owns a sprawling Texas ranch roughly an hour away. There is, however, no indication that Drake has expressed an intention to purchase the mansion.

For now, the possibility offers an intriguing glimpse into the real estate choices available to celebrities seeking privacy, space and distinctive properties.

Inside George Foreman’s $6 million Texas mansion

Located in Huffman, northeast of Houston, the Mediterranean-style estate was the longtime family home of Foreman, who died in March 2025 at the age of 76.Built in 2001, the property sits on 13.49 acres behind a gated entrance. Foreman and his wife, Mary Joan Martelly, designed the residence after their family outgrew their previous home in nearby Kingwood.

Spanning nearly 12,000 square feet, the single-storey mansion has five bedrooms, nine bathrooms, two kitchens, multiple living rooms, a library, two offices and a fitness room. The interiors feature imported marble, hardwood flooring, elaborate woodwork, decorative columns and three fireplaces. One of its most striking features is a dramatic glass atrium at the centre of the house. With steel framing and a soaring glass ceiling, the space allows natural light to flood the entrance while separating the home's two wings. The property also has a particularly personal touch: a hair salon that Foreman reportedly built for his wife.

The iconic kitchen where George Foreman filmed grill commercials

Beyond its size and luxury amenities, the mansion carries a piece of commercial history associated with one of Foreman’s most successful ventures. The kitchen where he filmed advertisements for the George Foreman Grill remains part of the property. Its island bears his initials, preserving a reminder of the business that helped transform the former heavyweight champion into a household name beyond boxing.Foreman won Olympic gold in 1968 and became world heavyweight champion in 1973. After stepping away from the sport, he made a remarkable comeback, knocking out Michael Moorer in 1994 at the age of 45 to become the oldest world heavyweight champion at the time.Yet his commercial success extended far beyond the boxing ring. The George Foreman Grill became a major hit, selling millions of units and establishing him as one of the most recognisable personalities in consumer advertising. The kitchen is therefore more than another feature in an expensive home. It is a tangible connection to the second chapter of Foreman’s extraordinary career.

An 11,000-square-foot garage that can house more than 50 cars

For automobile enthusiasts, the mansion’s biggest attraction could be the enormous collector’s garage behind the main residence.Measuring approximately 11,000 square feet, the climate-controlled facility was designed to accommodate a substantial collection of vehicles.

The space could potentially serve as a private car museum, although its next owner could also explore alternative uses.According to the listing, the garage could be converted into a boxing gym, basketball court or another recreational facility.Foreman had a well-documented passion for cars and owned dozens of vehicles. He eventually sold more than 50 cars at auction, and the garage is now empty, ready for a new owner to decide how to use the space. For someone with Drake’s financial resources and interest in large, private properties, the facility could be an appealing feature. However, there is no confirmation that the rapper has visited the estate or considered purchasing it.

George Foreman’s estate offers additional land, tennis and basketball courts

The 13.49 acres currently being offered for sale form part of a larger estate measuring approximately 28 acres.A further 14.79-acre parcel is available separately, potentially allowing a buyer to expand the property into an even larger private compound. The additional land includes a tennis court, basketball court and fishing pond, creating opportunities for outdoor recreation away from the main residence. The estate also has a private well, septic system and whole-home generator, features that support a more self-contained lifestyle.Situated in Huffman, the property offers a rural atmosphere while remaining within reach of Houston. Lake Houston is nearby, adding to the appeal for buyers seeking a retreat without moving too far from a major city.

George Foreman’s mansion was a family home, not just a luxury property

While the estate boasts impressive dimensions and amenities, it also played an important role in Foreman’s family life. The mansion became a gathering place for his large family, with one of his daughters reportedly holding her wedding reception in the central glass atrium.Foreman also used the property as a base for his work outside boxing. A private studio and office provided space for his sermons as he pursued his career as a minister. He continued to make television appearances later in life, including on NBC’s travel reality series Better Late Than Never, alongside William Shatner, Henry Winkler and Terry Bradshaw. Now, more than a year after his death, the residence is seeking a new owner who could preserve its history or reshape it to suit a different lifestyle.

Drake already owns a sprawling $15 million Texas ranch

The speculation surrounding Drake’s potential interest in Foreman’s former home stems partly from his existing Texas real estate holdings. The rapper reportedly paid around $15 million for the former Inn at Dos Brisas ranch near Chappell Hill. The property spans approximately 313 acres between Houston and Austin, giving him considerable space and privacy. His existing ranch has helped establish his presence in the Texas luxury property market, making the suggestion of another purchase an interesting possibility.Foreman’s former home would offer a different proposition. Although significantly smaller in acreage than Drake’s ranch, it combines a substantial residence, an exceptionally large garage, recreational possibilities and a direct connection to one of boxing’s most celebrated figures. The $6 million asking price is also considerably lower than the reported price of Drake’s existing ranch, though the two properties differ significantly in their size, features and potential uses.
