KUALA TERENGGANU: All eco-forest parks, hiking trails and recreational activities in Permanent Reserved Forest (PRF) areas under the Terengganu Forestry Department will be temporarily closed from Nov 1 due to the northeast monsoon.
Terengganu Forestry Department director Ramli Mat Ramli said the closure was necessary to prevent flash floods and other untoward incidents during the monsoon season.
"These areas will be closed until a date that will be announced later.
"The department will provide updates from time to time," he said when contacted.
He advised the public not to enter the affected areas and to comply with instructions issued by the authorities to avoid enforcement action under the National Forestry (Adoption) Enactment.
