(ANSA) - ROME, 20 OTT - Troublemakers who use social media to organise violent groups to take part in public demonstrations will get up to 12 years in jail under a new security and juvenile crime decree approved by cabinet Tuesday after the weekend's shocking youth riots in Milan, Justice Minister Carlo Nordio said.
"There is a distinct criminal offense," punishable by 4 to 12 years in prison, for anyone who—including through the use of digital or online tools—promotes the formation of a group for the purpose of such "violent demonstrations," Nordio told a press conference at Palazzo Chigi, following the cabinet meeting regarding a decree introducing new security regulations.
