Samsung started rolling out the update to Android 17 with One UI 9 on top to the Galaxy A36 last week, but it's only been available in South Korea. That has now thankfully changed, as the update is also rolling out in Europe.

It arrives over-the-air as a 2.38GB download, so make sure you grab it over a fast enough network. After you install it, your Galaxy A36 will be on software version A366BXXUCDZIF, and the September 5, 2026 security patch level.
The rollout is very likely to be gradual, so if you have an A36 purchased in Europe and you haven’t yet received the update notification, don't worry about it - the ball is rolling now, and it will most likely reach you in the next few days.
