DAEJEON — The Korea Forest Service said on the 14th that it held the 18th forest policy forum for mayors, county governors and district chiefs at the Sejong National Arboretum, under the theme of building a country where people find happiness in forests, together with local governments.
The agency presented a range of forest policies tailored to regional needs at the forum. Hamyang County in South Gyeongsang Province shared a case on regional cooperation, while Namhae County in the same province presented its handling of pine wilt disease as examples of successful local forest policy.
The agency also set aside time to hear policy proposals and requests from local governments.
"The Korea Forest Service and local governments will walk this path together as partners in forest policy, toward a country where people find happiness in forests," Korea Forest Service Administrator Park Eun-sik said.
