The National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate for the Masaka City Woman Parliamentary seat, Ms Rose Nalubowa, has instructed her legal team to appeal against a High Court ruling that upheld the election victory of State Minister for Local Government Justine Nameere.
Addressing journalists in Masaka City on Wednesday alongside her lawyers, Mr Samuel Muyizzi and Mr Alexander Lule, Ms Nalubowa stated that Justice Bernard Namanya’s recognition of procedural flaws during the vote recount provides sufficient grounds to challenge the decision in the Court of Appeal. She criticized the judicial process, asserting that the judiciary’s integrity is being tested following decisions in both the Chief Magistrate's Court and the High Court, and expressed confidence that the appellate court would restore the victory of Masaka City voters.
