Potential initiatives include ETFs built around themes common to both markets.
Singapore Exchange (SGX) Group has signed a memorandum of collaboration (MOC) with the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) to deepen cooperation on depository receipts, cross-listings, and market access between the two countries.
The collaboration will explore more seamless pathways for issuers to access capital across SGX and PSE whilst giving investors more investment and trading opportunities in each market through a broader range of products.
Potential initiatives include exchange-traded funds (ETFs) built around investment themes common to both markets, derivatives, and closer engagement with market participants.
SGX and PSE will work with regulators and other market participants to address the regulatory and operational considerations needed to support these initiatives.
The MOC was signed on the sidelines of the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum on 22 October.
Amongst those present at the signing were Loh Boon Chye, CEO of SGX Group, and Ramon Monzon, president and CEO of PSE.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW
Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.
Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.
We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.
If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
