One of Maryland's most storied football programs will make a Washington County appearance for the second time in two weeks, and this time it will be in a matchup of two undefeated teams.
Smithsburg, the county's lone undefeated team -- and, without question, its most improved -- will play host to Fort Hill on Friday evening, Oct. 23. The Sentinels, who dispatched North Hagerstown at Callas Stadium last week, have won nine Class 1A state championships since 2013, including four straight from 2013-16 and another four-year run and 2021-24. Fort Hill fell to Patuxent in last year's 1A final. We will have a live blog from the Leopards-Sentinels matchup.
Also on Friday night, the Hubs will try to bounce back at home against county rival Boonsboro, which snapped a two-game losing streak last week with a record-setting performance.
