MBABANE – Legendary Gospel artist, Sipho ‘Big Fish’ Makhabane continues soaring higher in the industry after so many years.
On Friday the Gospel artist was performing at PMT Health Care Institution 4TH Graduation ceremony in Namibia. After his performance the musician was honoured by the Institutions Founder and Director Dr Rutendo Zvidza, stating that Makhabane will always give a powerful, beautiful and spirit-filled performance.
Dr Zvidza said that the institution was honoured to have the Gospel musician perform at their event. “What an amazing experience we have had today. We have the extraordinary honour of celebrating not just a Gospel musician, but a living legend, a father, a mentor and a remarkable servant of God. Baba Sipho Makhabane, your journey is a testimony of faith, humility, dedication and service to humanity,” said the director.
Through his music, the Big Fish has healed broken hearts, restored hope, inspired generations and brought countless souls closer to God. What makes his legacy truly remarkable is that he has not only built a name for himself but he has raised, nurtured and mentored generations of Gospel artists. Makhabane has opened doors for others and helped them discover their God-given talents. “Baba, true greatness is not measured by how brightly we shine, but by how many lives we help to shine. At PMT Health Care Institution, we believe in touching lives through compassion, service and humanity. While we train nurses and occupational health and safety professionals to care for humanity, you have used your voice and ministry to heal hearts and uplift souls. We are deeply honoured that you travelled to Namibia to celebrate this special milestone with our graduating Class of 2026. I personally express my heartfelt gratitude, admiration and respect for you,” concluded the founder.
Makhabane celebrated the day with the institutions graduates and in turn was also celebrated by being presented with a special Recognition and Appreciation Award, in honour of his outstanding contribution to Gospel music, remarkable mentorship and lifelong dedication to serving God and humanity.
Makhabane said that he was not expecting such on the day as he had only been there for a performance and the recognition was a surprise to him. “Wow, I was very happy to receive this award on the day. This shows that even after so long in the industry I continue to receive such incredible trophies, to be still making impact in this day and age is truly humbling,” he said.
