Thai women recruited for lucrative Hong Kong hotel sex bookings as police arrest 16 and seize or freeze ฿77 million. Organisers pocketed 70% of takings, while investigators trace reported offshore transfers of ฿8.5 million each month, police now say.
A lucrative Hong Kong prostitution racket recruiting Thai women has been smashed, with 16 arrests and HK$18.17 million (฿77 million) seized or frozen. Three Hong Kong brothers and a Thai national are central suspects. Customers paid up to HK$1,000 for hotel sex bookings, with organisers pocketing 70%. Even so, Thai women could potentially earn over ฿100,000 monthly. Police also uncovered reported offshore transfers of HK$2 million a month. Meanwhile, a separate crackdown netted 20 suspects and exposed women required to perform up to 45 unpaid sexual services. Thai police are now tracing the recruiters, cash and overseas beneficiaries behind the lucrative operation.
The Royal Thai Police have joined a major Hong Kong investigation into a lucrative prostitution syndicate recruiting Thai women for hotel sex bookings.
Customers paid up to HK$1,000 (฿4,300) per appointment, with the organisers pocketing 70% of the proceeds. Even so, women securing regular bookings could potentially earn more than ฿100,000 monthly. Hong Kong police arrested 16 people, including nine Thai women, and seized HK$13 million (฿55 million) in cash.
Another HK$5.17 million (฿22 million) was frozen. Meanwhile, investigators uncovered reported offshore transfers of HK$2 million monthly. Thai police are now tracing the recruiters and financial beneficiaries behind the international operation.
Thai police join Hong Kong probe after 16 arrests and seizure of HK$18.17 million in cash and accounts
The Royal Thai Police confirmed direct cooperation with Hong Kong investigators on Tuesday, October 13. Police Colonel Song-ek Patcharawit, deputy spokesman for the Royal Thai Police, disclosed the development following raids on October 8–9. Hong Kong officers provided details of the syndicate’s organisation, arrests and seized evidence.
In particular, Thai investigators are examining recruitment activities, travel arrangements and financial transactions linked to Thailand. No further arrests in Thailand have been confirmed.
The crackdown targeted a centrally managed prostitution business operating through hotels in Tsim Sha Tsui. Police arrested seven men and nine Thai women, aged between 19 and 33. Notably, the financial evidence revealed a business handling substantial sums.
Officers seized HK$13 million in cash and froze another HK$5.17 million in bank accounts. Together, these assets amounted to HK$18.17 million, approximately ฿77 million. Investigators also identified international transfers and electronic records documenting the organisation’s activities.
Thai women recruited for Hong Kong hotel sex bookings as three brothers ran the lucrative operation
The syndicate reportedly operated for at least one year, recruiting women in Thailand and arranging their journeys to Hong Kong. Once there, the women were accommodated in hotels and advertised through online photographs and videos.
Customers contacted the booking operation through Telegram and other electronic communications. The organisation then arranged sexual appointments at designated hotel rooms, particularly in Tsim Sha Tsui. Crucially, the business controlled advertising, customer bookings and payment collection. The women provided sexual services while the organisers managed the commercial operation.
Three Hong Kong brothers were identified as central figures controlling the local business. A Thai national was also among the principal suspects. Separately, Thai associates reportedly participated in recruitment and collecting payments from the women.
The organisation operated from a residential apartment in Tuen Mun, away from the hotels used for appointments. Police identified several properties associated with the suspects, including premises used to direct the operation. The network also supplied accommodation, meals, condoms, lubricants, disposable towels and other necessities.
Hotel sex bookings priced at HK$1,000 offered Thai women potential monthly earnings above ฿100,000
The financial arrangements were particularly revealing. Customers reportedly paid between HK700andHK1,000 for each sexual appointment, approximately ฿3,000–฿4,300. The syndicate retained 70% of every payment, leaving the women with 30%.
At HK$700, the organisation collected HK$490 while the woman received HK$210. At HK$1,000, the syndicate received HK$700, leaving HK$300 for the woman. Consequently, the women earned approximately ฿900–฿1,300 per appointment, depending on the price charged.
Despite the substantial commission, repeated bookings could produce considerable personal income. For example, five appointments daily at HK$1,000 would generate HK$1,500 for a woman, approximately ฿6,400. Over 20 working days, that would amount to HK$30,000, equivalent to approximately ฿128,000.
Alternatively, eight appointments daily would produce HK$2,400, or approximately ฿10,200. Over 20 days, earnings would reach HK$48,000, equivalent to approximately ฿204,000. These figures illustrate the commission structure rather than confirmed individual earnings.
Nevertheless, the calculations demonstrate how regular appointments could generate substantial incomes compared with many conventional occupations in Thailand. The organisation reportedly provided accommodation and meals, reducing some immediate living expenses.
Police uncover HK$400,000 in two days of takings as syndicate collected 70% from every hotel booking
However, investigators have not established whether other charges or deductions applied. Nor have police disclosed how many appointments individual women completed or how frequently they worked. Therefore, their actual earnings, savings and personal assets remain unknown.
The syndicate’s own receipts were considerably larger. At HK$1,000 per appointment, the organisation retained HK$700 before expenses. As a result, every 100 appointments at that price would generate HK$70,000 in commission income.
The women would collectively receive HK$30,000. At 1,000 appointments, gross customer payments would reach HK$1 million. The organisation’s share would amount to HK$700,000, leaving HK$300,000 for the women. These calculations do not establish how many appointments were completed.
Police recovered evidence suggesting the organisation handled substantial volumes of business. One significant discovery involved HK$400,000 believed to represent takings from just two days. That indicates average gross receipts of approximately HK$200,000 daily during the period concerned.
At the reported commission rate, the syndicate’s share would reach HK$140,000 per day before expenses. Meanwhile, the women would collectively receive HK$60,000, approximately ฿255,000. The number of women working during those two days has not been established.
Projected annual takings reach HK$73 million as police seize millions and trace offshore money flows
If that daily volume continued for 30 days, gross receipts would reach HK$6 million. The organisation would retain HK$4.2 million, approximately ฿18 million. In comparison, the women’s combined share would reach HK$1.8 million, approximately ฿7.7 million.
Over 12 months, equivalent gross receipts would total HK$73 million. The syndicate’s 70% share would amount to HK$51.1 million, approximately ฿217 million. The women would collectively receive HK$21.9 million, equivalent to approximately ฿93 million. However, these are projections, not verified turnover or earnings.
Investigators have not established whether the two-day collection represented normal business activity. Nonetheless, the recovered cash provides direct evidence of substantial financial resources. Hong Kong police seized HK$13 million, approximately ฿55 million. Officers also froze HK$5.17 million in accounts linked to the investigation.
The combined amount reached HK$18.17 million, approximately ฿77 million. However, the money cannot automatically be classified as net profits. Investigators must establish its origins, accumulation period and any connection with other activities.
On another front, Hong Kong reporting indicates that the organisation transferred approximately HK$2 million overseas every month. That represents approximately ฿8.5 million in monthly international payments.
Thai investigators trace HK$2 million in monthly overseas transfers and examine Telegram records
If sustained over 12 months, the transfers would total HK$24 million, approximately ฿102 million. The organisation reportedly operated for at least one year.
However, investigators have not publicly identified the destination countries, account holders or ultimate beneficiaries. Nor has it been established whether all these transfers represented prostitution proceeds.
The international money movements have become a central focus of the Thai investigation. Police are examining whether proceeds reached recruiters, organisers or other participants operating inside Thailand.
Specifically, officers want to identify individuals responsible for arranging the women’s travel and receiving recruitment payments. They are also examining the financial relationship between the Hong Kong brothers and Thai associates. However, the precise division of the syndicate’s 70% commission remains unknown.
In parallel, investigators are examining the organisation’s electronic booking records. During the raids, officers discovered two suspects communicating with customers and women through Telegram. Police recovered two computers performing separate commercial functions.
One handled online advertisements and updated the women’s schedules. The other recorded customer appointments, telephone numbers and related booking information. Additionally, officers recovered mobile telephones, financial documents and electronic communications linked to the operation.
Bank accounts and daily cash collections expose syndicate finances as 16 suspects face police inquiries
These records may establish the total number of appointments and the organisation’s actual turnover. They could also identify additional participants responsible for advertising, recruitment and payment collection.
Furthermore, investigators identified four bank accounts reportedly associated with senior suspects and suspected criminal proceeds. Personal accounts were also used to process transactions. The financial records may therefore prove important in tracing payments between Hong Kong and overseas recipients.
The women reportedly surrendered their daily earnings to a Thai male controller at designated collection points. Collections frequently occurred during the early morning, following the completion of hotel appointments.
The organisation subsequently distributed the women’s shares while retaining its commission. However, investigators have not established how the retained money was divided among the organisers. The available reporting also does not identify individual hotels or disclose whether customers purchased additional categories of sexual services.
The October raids resulted in the arrests of seven men aged 44–54 and nine Thai women aged 19–33. Among the principal suspects were three Hong Kong brothers and a Thai national. Investigators are examining offences involving trafficking people into or out of Hong Kong, controlling prostitution and living on prostitution earnings. Money laundering also forms part of the investigation. Meanwhile, the nine Thai women were arrested on suspicion of breaching their conditions of stay.
Twelve suspects reportedly charged as separate Hong Kong prostitution raids uncover unpaid sex bookings
Hong Kong reporting indicated that 12 suspects had been charged, with court proceedings scheduled for Monday, October 12. The cases were due before Kowloon City Magistrates’ Courts.
However, the individual outcomes have not been confirmed in the available information. Investigators have also not established whether the women travelled voluntarily or experienced coercion. Their immigration arrests do not determine whether they were trafficking victims. Equally, police have not established whether individual women accumulated significant wealth or acquired valuable assets.
In a separate development, Hong Kong police announced another major prostitution investigation on Tuesday, October 13. This operation resulted in 20 arrests involving a network recruiting women from Southeast Asia. The organisation operated around Sham Shui Po and Tsuen Wan.
According to police, it initially paid for the women’s travel and accommodation. However, the women were subsequently required to provide between 30 and 45 unpaid sexual services. These appointments were treated as repayment for the expenses incurred in bringing them to Hong Kong.
Second Hong Kong syndicate took 50% after women worked unpaid, with no proven link to Thai operation
Only after completing the unpaid appointments could the women begin receiving earnings. Even then, the organisation reportedly retained 50% of their income. Police seized approximately HK100,000incashandfrozemorethanHK10 million in suspected criminal proceeds.
Two principal suspects appeared before West Kowloon Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday. Another 16 were scheduled to appear on Wednesday, October 14. However, Hong Kong police have not established any connection between this operation and the Thai syndicate.
The two investigations revealed different financial arrangements. The first network reportedly paid Thai women 30% of customer receipts from their appointments. By contrast, the second required women to complete dozens of unpaid appointments before receiving income.
Both organisations used overseas recruitment and centralised payment collection. However, investigators have not established shared management, recruitment arrangements or financial connections between them.
For Thai police, the immediate priority remains identifying the recruiters and financial beneficiaries behind the first syndicate. Officers are seeking further evidence concerning travel arrangements, payment collection and overseas transfers.
Thai police pursue recruiters and overseas payments as lucrative hotel sex operation faces wider inquiry
The Royal Thai Police have confirmed continued cooperation with Hong Kong investigators. Police Colonel Song-ek said information concerning individuals and financial transactions linked to Thailand would support further investigations and possible prosecutions.
The organisation’s customer records could also establish its true commercial scale. Investigators have not disclosed the total number of appointments arranged or customers served. Nor have they established the combined earnings of participating women.
Nevertheless, the reported prices demonstrate the considerable sums potentially available through regular bookings. At HK1,000,eachappointmentgeneratedHK700 for the organisers and HK$300 for the woman. Consequently, women securing repeated appointments could generate substantial monthly income while the syndicate collected more than twice their earnings.

The financial evidence already establishes a business handling millions of Hong Kong dollars. Police seized HK$13 million, froze HK$5.17 million and identified reported offshore transfers averaging HK$2 million monthly.
Furthermore, the 70% commission reveals how the organisers captured most customer payments. The women’s 30% share nevertheless offered potentially substantial earnings through repeated bookings. However, their actual incomes and personal wealth remain unverified.
The investigation now centres on who controlled the recruitment network, who received the money and whether proceeds reached Thailand. Meanwhile, Hong Kong police retain extensive electronic and financial evidence from the raids.
The syndicate’s full turnover, individual beneficiaries and international financial connections remain under examination. For now, the crackdown has exposed a highly profitable hotel prostitution business involving Thai women, Hong Kong organisers and substantial cross-border money movements.
