SINGAPORE: Singapore's key consumer price gauge rose two per cent in September from a year earlier, official data showed on Friday.
The core inflation rate, which excludes private road transport and accommodation costs, was lower than the median forecast of 2.3 per cent in a Reuters poll and August's reading of 2.2 per cent.
Headline inflation was 2.2 per cent in annual terms in September, matching the poll forecast.
The central bank kept its monetary policy unchanged last week, in a move that surprised analysts, with inflation risks expected to ease slightly as the AI boom and supply constraints moderate.
In August, the trade ministry raised its growth forecast for 2026 to a range of 4.5 per cent to 5.5 per cent, from the previous 2.0 per cent to 4.0 per cent.
