JOHOR BARU: The Falcon Data Centre in Sedenak, Kulai, which has been completed, reflects Johor's continued progress in digital infrastructure development.
State Investment, Trade, Consumer Affairs and Human Resources Committee chairman Lee Ting Han said that with the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud computing and digital transformation, digital infrastructure has now become a key driver of regional economic growth.
He said the state government remains committed to providing a stable, efficient and competitive investment environment to support more high-quality investments.
"Our priority is to ensure that investments can be realised and generate long-term value for the local economy.
"Additionally, we hope that this data centre can further stimulate industrial growth and create more opportunities for local companies to join the supply chain, create high-skilled job opportunities, advance talent development and encourage technology transfer," he said in a statement today.
He said this at the project completion ceremony and appreciation dinner hosted by Huashi (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of China Huashi, in Forest City, Iskandar Puteri, last night.
Lee said the project demonstrates robust implementation capabilities and strengthens investor confidence in Johor's investment environment and its future growth potential.
Meanwhile, China Huashi Asia-Pacific Regional Headquarters executive director and general manager Wu Qingchao said the company is leveraging its expertise in engineering and construction, mechanical and electrical installation, and project management to continue expanding its capabilities in the digitalisation sector.
"We remain committed to developing digital infrastructure that complies with local regulatory requirements while prioritising safety, sustainability and operational efficiency," he said.
With more than a decade of operations in Malaysia, the company has expanded its presence in Johor, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, and has undertaken more than 30 engineering and construction projects.
It also holds a G7 contractor registration with the Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia.
Huashi Malaysia is actively capitalising on the growing opportunities in Southeast Asia's digital infrastructure sector and gradually expanding its business scope from traditional construction and infrastructure engineering to data centres and related digital infrastructure projects.
The event also witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Digital Decarbonisation Solutions Platform and Huashi Malaysia, laying the foundation for further collaboration between the two parties. — BERNAMA
