Jonathan Bailey may be best known for his dashing roles on screen (think Anthony Bridgerton), but his latest part is a little darker: voicing Dracula in a new audiobook.
He's taking on the lead in a spooky new audiobook adaptation of the classic horror novel by Bram Stoker, produced by Audible Original. He's joined by a stellar cast that includes Ella Purnell, Lesley Manville, Aimee Lou Wood and Maggie Gyllenhaal. The audiobook is directed by horror filmmaker Mary Lambert (Pet Sematary) and uses its original score to full, atmospheric effect.
The psychological horror, which tells the story of a young woman whose fiancé vanishes in Transylvania, is the perfect listen for Halloween. Using fragments of letters, diary entries and chilling testimony, Mina sets out to hunt down the predator stalking those she loves - only to discover he's already hunting her. Although it was written over 100 years ago, the story's potent mix of gothic suspense and fear of the unknown means it's as chilling now as when it was first published.
