The Indianapolis Colts were reportedly among the teams to do their due diligence on wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. before he was traded, but GM Chris Ballard ultimately decided not to pursue a deal.
So, considering that the Colts need wide receiver help, why wasn't Indianapolis more aggressive?
According to ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, the Arizona Cardinals' asking price for Harrison Jr. was "too high."
The Houston Texans ended up sending a 2027 second-round pick and a 2027 sixth-round pick in return for Harrison Jr. and a 2027 seventh-round selection.
While Harrison is a former fourth overall pick, his production up to this point in his career has been inconsistent.
Along with the price tag, there were a few other reasons why this trade for the Colts never made much sense, including the fact that Indianapolis is already without their 2027 first-round pick.
Fowler adds that the Texans "didn't have much true, known competition" for Harrison Jr.
