TEXAS – Pakistan is stepping up efforts to attract American technology companies and investors, positioning its young workforce, rapidly growing IT industry and expertise in emerging technologies as major opportunities for international business partnerships.
Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh made strong push to expand Pakistan’s technology footprint in United States, inviting American businesses to tap into the country’s growing digital economy and explore profitable opportunities in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, fintech and enterprise solutions.
The ambassador delivered the message at Pak–US Tech Connect 2026 in Dallas, Texas, where Pakistani technology companies, American business executives, investors and Pakistani-American professionals gathered to explore new commercial partnerships and strengthen technology cooperation between the two countries.
The initiative comes as Pakistan’s IT industry continues to expand its international reach, with exports reaching approximately $435 million in September 2026. The country’s growing technology workforce, competitive capabilities and established business links with the US market are creating fresh opportunities for companies seeking skilled talent and technology solutions.
Ambassador highlighted United States as global centre of technological innovation and Pakistan’s largest IT export market, underscoring the potential for mutually beneficial business partnerships. He encouraged American enterprises to look beyond traditional commercial relationships and explore Pakistan’s expanding capabilities in high-growth technology sectors, particularly artificial intelligence and other emerging digital technologies.
Pakistan’s demographic profile offers a significant advantage in this regard. Approximately 60 to 65 per cent of the country’s population is below the age of 30, providing a substantial base of young talent for an increasingly knowledge-driven global economy.
The ambassador stressed that Pakistan’s technology sector has the potential to deliver internationally competitive services while creating new avenues for investment, innovation and cross-border business expansion. He highlighted Pakistan’s potential, technical strength, future prospects and commercial competitiveness, urging American businesses to turn their interest into concrete partnerships with Pakistani technology companies.
Pakistan’s expanding talent pool was another major focus of the conference, with Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) Chief Executive Officer Faisal Jeddy revealing that the country produces approximately 70,000 IT and computer science graduates every year.
This steady supply of graduates offers an important foundation for expanding technology exports, developing specialised digital services and meeting international demand for skilled professionals.
Jeddy said Pakistan’s IT exports had grown at an average annual rate of around 21 per cent over the preceding four years, reaching approximately $435 million in September 2026.
US alone accounts for around 57 per cent of Pakistan’s IT exports, highlighting the depth of existing commercial ties and the potential to expand business with American clients. The figures reinforce Pakistan’s position as an emerging destination for technology partnerships, with an established export base and opportunities to strengthen its presence in higher-value digital services.
Pakistani tech companies are increasingly developing capabilities across artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, fintech and enterprise solutions, creating opportunities to serve a wider range of international clients.
At Dallas conference, Jeddy encouraged Pakistani-American professionals to use their industry connections to introduce local technology firms to US corporations, investors and potential business partners. He also reaffirmed PSEB’s commitment to supporting investors and helping address operational challenges in coordination with relevant institutions, including the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
The focus on practical business cooperation reflects an effort to move beyond promotional activities and secure meaningful commercial outcomes, including technology contracts, investment commitments and long-term partnerships.
2026 Pak–US Tech Connect series has adopted a more targeted, business-oriented format, featuring approximately 13 to 14 established Pakistani technology companies with international experience and demonstrated capabilities.
Dallas event featured company presentations and business-to-business meetings involving American corporate executives, technology buyers, investors and strategic partners from the Dallas–Fort Worth region and other parts of Texas. These engagements created opportunities for Pakistani firms to present their solutions, establish direct commercial contacts and explore partnerships with businesses in one of the world’s major economies.
Participants stressed the importance of converting these discussions into tangible business opportunities and sustained investment relationships.
Ambassador Sheikh highlighted the important role of Pakistani-American entrepreneurs, technology professionals and business leaders in connecting the two markets.
