Thursday Night Football gives fantasy football managers an interesting Week 6 matchup as the Seattle Seahawks travel to face the Denver Broncos.
With Seattle coming off a loss to the San Francisco 49ers and Denver looking to protect its home field, fantasy managers must identify which players have the best chance to deliver. Here are three players to start and three to consider sitting before kickoff.
Start ’Em
Start: Jaylen Waddle, WR, Broncos
Fantasy managers have had plenty of reasons to feel frustrated with Waddle this season, as his production has not consistently matched the expectations that come with his talent. Week after week, managers have been waiting for him to deliver the kind of explosive performance that can change a fantasy matchup, only to be left wanting more. Still, benching Waddle is easier said than done, especially when his speed and playmaking ability give him the potential to break out at any moment.

Thursday night’s matchup presents another opportunity for Waddle to turn things around. Seattle has been effective at generating pressure and forcing turnovers, which could make it difficult for Denver to establish a consistent passing rhythm. However, Waddle’s ability to create separation and generate yards after the catch gives him a path to fantasy production, even if he does not receive a massive target share.
Start: Emanuel Wilson, RB, Seahawks
Seattle’s backfield has dealt with injuries, creating an opportunity for Wilson to become a valuable fantasy option. With rookie Jadarian Price on injured reserve and Zach Charbonnet unlikely to return this week, Wilson should continue handling a significant workload.
Wilson has delivered at least 72 total yards and a touchdown in each of his last two games. That recent production, combined with his expected opportunities, makes him a strong running back option for Week 6.
Denver’s defense has shown vulnerabilities against opposing running backs, giving Wilson a chance to take advantage if Seattle commits to its ground game. George Holani could still see some work, but Wilson remains the better option based on his recent production and expected role.
Start: Courtland Sutton, WR, Broncos
Sutton has been another source of frustration for fantasy managers this season. The Broncos wide receiver has struggled to deliver consistent production, leaving many managers comfortable keeping him on their benches rather than trusting him in their starting lineups. His recent inconsistency has made it difficult to predict when he will deliver, but Week 6 could present a reason to reconsider.
With several fantasy-relevant players on bye (Amon-Ra St. Brown, Justin Jefferson, Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins), managers may need to look beyond their usual starters to fill out their lineups. Sutton also has the benefit of playing at home in a primetime matchup, giving him an opportunity to build on the touchdown he scored last week. While Seattle’s defense presents a difficult challenge, Sutton’s size and ability to win contested catches make him a potential red-zone difference-maker.
Just understand the risk: Sutton could deliver a useful fantasy performance with another touchdown, but without one, managers could be left disappointed once again.
Sit ’Em
Sit: J.K. Dobbins, RB, Broncos
Dobbins is a difficult fantasy decision because running backs can deliver productive performances even in challenging matchups. However, Seattle’s defensive front presents a concern, particularly if Denver struggles to establish its running game early.
The Seahawks have generated consistent pressure and forced opposing offenses into difficult situations. If Denver falls behind or cannot create running lanes, Dobbins could struggle to generate the volume and efficiency needed for a strong fantasy performance.
Sit: AJ Barner, TE, Seahawks
Barner is a risky tight end option against Denver this week. Seattle has other receiving options capable of commanding targets, including Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp. That competition makes it difficult to confidently project a large workload for Barner, even if he gets opportunities around the goal line.
Barner could still produce if Seattle makes a concerted effort to involve him, but his fantasy outlook is less favorable than that of a tight end with a consistent target share. Unless your league is particularly deep or you are dealing with a bye-week emergency, look for a more dependable option.
Sit: Bo Nix, QB, Broncos
The Seahawks have recorded 14 sacks and seven interceptions through five games, giving them multiple ways to disrupt opposing quarterbacks. Seattle’s ability to generate turnovers raises the risk of a frustrating performance.
Nix remains a viable option in deeper leagues, but in a 12-man league or fewer, you should keep him on the bench. Nix has not played well this season outside of one game where he surpassed 25 fantasy points.
