There's a new player in Philadelphia, and you may have heard of him. LeBron James debuted with the Philadelphia 76ers this week, so far, and it's brought the drama and viral moments that fans hoped it would bring.
The 76ers pulled off a win over the reigning champions, the New York Knicks, on Tuesday in a 106-100 victory to kick off the season. As sweet as that win was for Philly, seeing the bond forming between James and the team's other blockbuster star, Joel Embiid, may be even sweeter.
LeBron James and Joel Embiid's hilarious handshake has fans talking after the 76ers' home opener
James has only been playing with the 76ers for a few days, but he already has a viral handshake with Embiid. This handshake is really getting attention on Thursday, during the team's home opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The new power couple showed off this special handshake on the court before the 76ers-Cavs game, and it's a funny exchange that involves the two slapping their hands against each other and moving in a wiggle dance move that you have to see to believe.
ESPN's NBA account shared the moment on X, formerly Twitter, on Thursday, and within a few hours, it racked up more than 600,000 views. That's really the power of putting James with a famed player like Embiid, and it's perhaps a sign of things to come.
