MOSCOW, October 13. /TASS/. Ukraine’s Air Force has confirmed that the country’s air defenses failed to get timely data on Russian ballistic missile launches amid speculation of the suspension of US intelligence sharing.
"Radar systems detected ballistic targets already during an attack on Kiev. There was no data on launches from the enemy’s territory. The causes are being established," Ukraine’s Air Force said on its Telegram channel.
In turn, the so-called Center for Countering Disinformation under the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council also reported on its Telegram channel that it was specifying information on the causes of a failure in receiving intelligence data on Russian ballistic missile launches amid various versions on this score in the Internet.
"In particular, it could be presumed that there has been a halt to intelligence sharing with Ukraine. Official information is being specified so far," the Center reported.
On the evening of October 12, Ukrainian media reported that explosions rocked Kiev before an air raid siren went off. Verkhovna Rada lawmaker Galina Yanchenko said earlier that the Ukrainian authorities would be unable to promptly receive data on Russian ballistic missile launches, if the United States stopped sharing intelligence with Kiev.
The Financial Times reported, citing unnamed European sources that the US administration was threatening to block arms for Ukraine and cut off intelligence sharing with Kiev. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian media outlet Strana reported that there was no official information that the United States could have halted intelligence sharing with Ukraine.
