NAKACINDA LEAVES PRISON, MAKES FIRST STOP AT LATE MUTOTWE KAFWAYA’S FAMILY
Former PF secretary general Raphael Nakachinda has been released from prison after serving his jail sentence.
PF Secretary General has been released from prison after completing his sentence.
He was jailed for 18 months for defamation of the President and later received a concurrent six-month sentence for hate speech.
Nakacinda still faces one count of seditious practices, and the matter has since been adjourned to November 2.
Upon release from Lusaka Central Prison, infamously called Chimbokaila, Nakacinda visited the surviving family of the former minister late Mutotwe Kafwaya who was killed on August 14.
In what is widely seen as part of the government crackdown on opposition in the aftermath of the disputed August 14 general election, Kafwaya was shot and killed when state security operatives stormed a place where opposition NRPUP faction were meeting at the property belonging to Brian Mundubile.
