KUALA LUMPUR: Negri Sembilan should be left to resolve its own affairs, Jelebu member of parliament Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias told the Dewan Rakyat.
Jalaluddin, who is also Pertang assemblyman, said this in response to an interjection by Hulu Terengganu MP Datuk Rosol Wahid during the 2027 Budget debate.
"Hulu Terengganu need not worry. The matter will be resolved. Let Negri Sembilan settle its own affairs," he said.
Earlier, Jalaluddin had raised questions over the progress of state development initiatives, including the Malaysia Vision Valley project announced by former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Rosol agreed on the need to advance the state's development plans before asking whether delays in appointing state executive council members could hamper Negri Sembilan's development.
On Sept 20, the Negri Sembilan palace announced that the Yang Dipertuan Besar, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, had revoked the appointments of 10 executive council members with immediate effect.
They were Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli, Datuk Zaifulbahri Idris, Datuk Mustapha Nagoor, Siow Kong Choon, Siti Nur Umairah Hashim, Datuk Mohd Asna Amin, Datuk Mohd Razi Mohd Ali, Suhaimizan Bizar, Mohd Fairuz Mohd Isa and Datuk Razali Abu Samah.
According to the gazette, their appointments were revoked because they had breached their pledge of allegiance to Tuanku Muhriz by agreeing to his removal as Yang Dipertuan Besar.
The former exco members have since filed a challenge in the Federal Court against the revocation.
They are seeking a ruling on whether the Yang Dipertuan Besar has the constitutional authority to revoke their appointments without the advice of the menteri besar.
