Pick n Pay has expanded its beauty offering with the launch of Real Cosmetics, an own-brand makeup range featuring more than 100 Beauty Without Cruelty-endorsed products, all priced below R90.
Available at more than 100 Pick n Pay stores nationwide and through Pick n Pay asap!, the range brings affordable colour cosmetics into the everyday grocery shop.
The retailer says it is the only on-demand grocery retailer in South Africa to offer a dedicated makeup range for delivery within 60 minutes.
With the most expensive product priced at R89.99, Real Cosmetics covers everyday essentials for the face, eyes, lips and nails.
What products are in the Real Cosmetics range?
The collection includes concealer, BB cream, lipstick, lip plumper, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, nail polish and highlighter.
Developed with variety in mind, the range offers shades for different skin tones, ages and occasions.
Concealers and lip products are available in shades ranging from lighter to deeper tones, while the lipstick collection includes neutral colours for everyday wear as well as brighter shades for those wanting to experiment.
The assortment also combines familiar makeup staples with trend-led products, including plumping lip glosses and highlighters. Selected products feature additional details, such as airless pumps on the BB creams.
Landre Venter, Head of Product Marketing at Pick n Pay, said the range was designed for customers who want to replace a finished product, try a new shade or add something extra to their regular shopping basket.
“Customers don’t have to make a separate shopping trip now to pick up a new concealer, mascara or lipstick. With every product priced below R100, it also gives customers the freedom to try and discover something new without a significant spend,” Venter said.
Customers ordering through Pick n Pay asap! can also have their makeup delivered within an hour, offering a convenient option for those who prefer shopping from home.
Real Cosmetics was developed in partnership with a local cosmetics supplier, combining the supplier’s knowledge of South Africa’s colour cosmetics market with Pick n Pay’s understanding of its customers.
The retailer contributed to the product selection and the development of the assortment, including the choice of colours and shades.
“Working with a local supplier means we can respond to what South African consumers are looking for, while also introducing products that reflect current beauty trends,” Venter said.
She added that the aim was to cater for a broad range of customers, from those looking for an everyday lipstick to shoppers interested in experimenting with brighter colours and new products.
“We want Pick n Pay to be a place where customers can find more of what they need in one shop, and the new Real Cosmetics range is a natural extension of that,” Venter said.
