Billionaire businessman Femi Otedola has revealed a longstanding personal connection with Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, disclosing that the two shared a bunk bed at boarding school nearly five decades ago.
Otedola made the revelation on Monday in a post on his official X account following a dinner he hosted in honour of Hamzat, who is the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 Lagos State election.
In his post, the billionaire described Hamzat as a man of integrity, citing his honesty, sincerity, fairness and strong moral principles.
He wrote that their relationship dated back to their boarding school days, when they shared a bunk bed 49 years ago.
Otedola also expressed confidence in Hamzat’s character, saying his experience of the deputy governor over the years had consistently reflected those qualities.
The dinner brought together prominent figures in Nigeria’s business community, including Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, and BUA Group chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu.
