The Green Bay Packers entered Week 5 seeking revenge over the Chicago Bears after losing to their bitter divisional rival twice last season, including in the playoffs. The Packers had the perfect response, delivering a 31-7 beatdown to improve to 3-2.
Jordan Love and his supporting cast were exceptional. The defense forced five turnovers and held the Bears' league-leading rushing offense to just 81 yards.
Green Bay was off to a rocky start, but Sunday's win could inject life into a team that didn't seem to have much hope this season.
Here were the standouts from a decisive Packers victory over Chicago:
S Xavier McKinney
Green Bay had three interceptions, and their ball-hawking safety was responsible for two of them. In the first quarter, Caleb Williams' stand-in, Tyson Bagent, tried to force a pass to a well-covered Luther Burden III, but Javon Bullard stepped in front to tip the ball into the hands of an awaiting McKinney. His second pick occurred during the second quarter and was also off of a bad ball from Bagent. Now up to three interceptions in five games, both of McKinney's takeaways against the Bears led to touchdowns in a performance that was reminiscent of his All-Pro season in 2024.

WR Christian Watson
Coming in, I thought Watson was someone to watch against two outside cornerbacks struggling to start the season. Watson took advantage of the favorable matchup, torching the Bears' defense for six catches for 143 yards and two touchdowns. His 42-yard touchdown catch gave Green Bay an early 7-0 lead on their first drive. Then, Watson hauled in a 31-yard reception followed by an incredible 53-yard touchdown reception on the same drive to begin the second half and extend the lead. After signing a $110.5 million extension in the offseason, Watson is now up to six receiving touchdowns in 2026 and continues to be a big-play machine for the Packers.

RB MarShawn Lloyd
Ten carries for 31 yards isn't much to get excited about, but two rushing touchdowns certainly are. Lloyd was much more efficient in the first half, and he delivered one of the best plays of the day when he ran over Jaylon Johnson to reach the end zone in the second quarter and put Green Bay up 14-0. Lloyd also showed good vision when he bounced a first-and-goal run out to the left for his second touchdown. The former third-round pick who couldn't stay healthy his first two years is averaging fewer than 3.0 yards per carry, but he appears to be trending in the right direction.

Edge Dani Dennis-Sutton
Is the rookie fourth-rounder already the team's third-best edge rusher behind Micah Parsons and Lukas Van Ness? Dennis-Sutton looked like it in Week 5, turning in his best game as a pro so far. He stopped D'Andre Swift for no gain on second-and-goal at the 1-yard line and later sniffed out a wide receiver screen for a 3-yard loss on third down, leading to a missed field goal. Dennis-Sutton then beat the left tackle with an inside rush for his first career full sack after recording a half-sack in Week 2 against the Jets. He capped off the day by recovering a strip sack late in the fourth quarter.

LB Ty'Ron Hopper
Green Bay needs a linebacker to step up after Edgerrin Cooper's season-ending injury. Maybe that player is Hopper, whose performance on Sunday likely earned him more snaps moving forward. The third-year linebacker sealed the game by intercepting a pass off Case Keenum, who had replaced a struggling Bagent. The Packers were up 31-7, but the Bears still had some hope after a 61-yard kick return to start the fourth quarter. However, Keenum's desperation heave on fourth-and-goal found Hopper's hands instead of a Chicago receiver.

WR Matthew Golden
For years, people said Green Bay was missing a true No. 1 wide receiver. Now they potentially have two. Golden finished with six receptions for a career-high 123 receiving yards without a touchdown but did catch a two-point conversion. After seeing only 37 targets as a rookie, the second-year receiver has matched that mark through five games this season while averaging 79.4 receiving yards per game and 16.5 yards per reception. Golden also did a nice job filling in for an injured Skyy Moore on punt returns, returning two punts for 27 yards. The Packers have found a stud.
DT Devonte Wyatt
Zero sacks through the first four games probably wasn't how Wyatt, nor the team, hoped he would start the season. He responded by recording not one but two sacks against the Bears in Week 5, including a late strip-sack recovered by Dennis-Sutton. With Javon Hargrave possibly done for the rest of the season after exiting Sunday's game with what is feared to be an Achilles injury, Wyatt needs to show why the team gave him a three-year $57 million extension.
QB Jordan Love
Watson and Golden don’t have massive days without their quarterback throwing accurate passes. Love had his best performance of the season so far, completing 25 of 31 passes for 367 yards and two touchdowns, finishing with a passer rating of 137.5. His deep passing may have been the best we've seen from him. According to Next Gen Stats, Love was 6 of 8 on deep passes (20+ air yards) for a career-high 258 yards and two touchdowns. Now that the offensive line is giving him time to throw, Love appears to be finding his groove and playing at a high level.
