Parental Care Nursery and Primary School in Bushenyi has dedicated 138 Primary Seven pupils to God as the school celebrated its participation in the recently concluded National Music, Dance and Drama (MDD) Championships held in Iganga District.
Speaking at the function, Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality Mayor Richard Byaruhanga urged parents and teachers to continue supporting children in co-curricular activities, noting that such engagements play an important role in developing learners’ talents alongside their academic performance.
Byaruhanga commended the school for its achievements in both academics and co-curricular activities. He added that the municipality plans to improve the area surrounding the school next year and enhance its visibility.
The mayor also highlighted the opportunities that sports and other extracurricular activities provide for young people, encouraging stakeholders to nurture learners’ abilities beyond the classroom.
The school director, Elivadah Nshemerirwe, acknowledged that winning is not always guaranteed in competitions but praised the pupils, teachers and trainers for their dedication and efforts during the national MDD championships.
