Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna says the state remains highly committed to President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 in appreciation of his administration’s development efforts.
Mr Sani made this known on Friday during the inspection and inauguration of projects in the Makarfi and Kudan local government areas.
Represented by the secretary to the state government (SSG), AbdulKadir Meyere, Mr Sani said projects in the state were made possible through Mr Tinubu’s efforts and collaboration.
He also lauded the active involvement of the speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, in facilitating the delivery of the projects.
The governor said the projects demonstrated the benefits of cooperation between the two levels of government and their commitment to improving residents’ lives.
Some projects included the groundbreaking ceremony for male and female hostels at Shehu Idris College of Health Sciences and Technology, Makarfi; the construction of the Makarfi bypass linking many communities; and the inauguration of a 20-bed primary healthcare centre.
Mr Sani urged residents to appreciate the development efforts by supporting the leaders responsible for delivering them and addressing their needs.
In his remarks, Mr Abbas said that more than 80 projects would be executed across seven local government areas in Zone One, excluding Zaria, within the year.
Mr Abbas said the projects would address critical needs in education, healthcare, roads and enterprise development.
He explained that the hostel project at Shehu Idris College of Health Sciences and Technology would provide safer accommodation for students and improve their learning environment.
Mr Abbas said the Makarfi bypass would improve connectivity, reduce travel time and transport costs, and facilitate the movement of agricultural produce to markets.
The speaker commended Mr Sani for promoting inclusive development through projects designed to ensure communities across Kaduna State benefited from government interventions.
Mr Abbas said the projects resulted from consultations with the governor, adding that cooperation among federal, state and local governments was essential for sustainable development.
He urged contractors to execute the projects according to specifications and within stipulated timelines, while calling on residents to monitor construction and protect completed facilities.
