As the Denver Broncos head home to the Mile High City for a showdown with the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks after a California road trip, the weather may be less than ideal coming back.
The forecast in Denver is calling for a kickoff temperature of 42 degrees and a 50 percent chance of rain ahead of the game, with temperatures dropping into the 30s come game time. Perfect football weather, right?
Well, the Broncos haven't had the best luck when it comes to Thursday Night Football games at home in October and November. The previous game was, ironically, a night when the Broncos broke out their beautiful throwback uniforms against the Las Vegas Raiders. In that game, there were swirling winds through the confines of Empower Field at Mile High, which caused punter Jeremy Crawshaw to shank several punts that night. It was a messy game, which ended in a 10-7 Broncos win.
The Broncos hope to not only take advantage of the weather, but also their crowd and the Mile High elevation when it comes to their game against Seattle.
It's not the Ice Bowl, but Denver football on a blustery night is one of the best settings in the NFL world.
