Former airline pilot Greg Lynn will fight to be released from custody ahead of a new murder trial over the death of an elderly camper.
Mr Lynn, 60, will return before the Victorian Supreme Court on Thursday for a bail application before Chief Justice Richard Niall, scheduled for 10.30am.
The father of three denies murdering Carol Clay, 73, who vanished while on a camping trip with Russell Hill, 74, in March 2020.

Mr Lynn was arrested and accused of murdering the pair about 20 months after the couple were last seen in the remote Wonnangatta Valley in Victoria’s High Country.
Following a 2024 trial, Mr Lynn was found guilty of Ms Clay’s murder and acquitted of Mr Hill’s, but his conviction was overturned by a panel of three judges in the Court of Appeal late last year.

The appeal judges found a substantial miscarriage of justice had occurred in his trial, due to unfair actions taken by the prosecution, and ordered he be retried over Ms Clay’s death.
A new trial has been scheduled to begin in May next year before Justice Michael O’Connell.
Mr Lynn has long maintained that he is innocent of murder and Ms Clay and Mr Hill died in a tragic accident.
