Modi Govt Approves 78-Day Diwali Bonus Worth Rs 2,009 Crore For 11.4 Lakh Railway Staff
The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved a 78-day Diwali bonus amounting to Rs 2,009 crore for eligible railway staff. The festive payout will benefit over 11.4 lakh non-gazetted railway personnel, including track maintainers, loco pilots, train managers, station masters, supervisors, technicians, and pointsmen. The maximum bonus amount payable per eligible employee is Rs 17,951. The incentive comes in recognition of the performance of Indian Railways, which loaded a record cargo of 1,670 million tonnes and carried nearly 7.41 billion passengers.
