JetBlue's hotly anticipated BlueFirst domestic first-class product is now available for booking on more than 30 routes across the United States. This provides passengers more choice when flying with JetBlue, and the opportunity to reserve a seat in the newest premium cabin for the New York-based carrier.
The airline has launched a promotional fare for the new flights, with the new cabin on offer for as little as $249 one way. The first flight will push back from the gate between
Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) on December 8. JetBlue will gradually expand this service, adding Fort Lauderdale to
LaGuardia Airport (LGA) before the other 28 destinations come online. Key US airports to see some of the first BlueFirst services include Fort Lauderdale, Boston, New York, and Westchester.
JetBlue BlueFirst Is Now Available For Booking
BlueFirst is the first class product that JetBlue has added to its aircraft that are not Mint-equipped (lie-flat, primarily used for European or transcontinental services). This will allow the airline to offer a premium cabin for more markets both domestically and across Latin America and the Caribbean.
The new cabin has been designed to provide a more accessible first-class experience for travelers, and is set to combine the friendly customer service that JetBlue travelers expect with enhanced value and comfort. As the airline accepts and converts more aircraft, the BlueFirst cabin will become available on more routes throughout the airline's network. Joanna Geraghty, chief executive officer, JetBlue explains:
“We designed BlueFirst to deliver a more accessible first-class experience that combines the thoughtful hospitality and service customers expect from JetBlue with exceptional value and comfort. We're excited that customers can now start making BlueFirst part of their travel plans. This is just the beginning. As we bring BlueFirst to more aircraft, customers will see it become available on routes and in markets across our network, giving them even more opportunities to choose an elevated JetBlue experience.”
First Flight Planned For December 8
With JetBlue's first-ever BlueFirst service operating from Boston to Fort Lauderdale this coming December, the airline acknowledges its history with Fort Lauderdale becoming the airline's first-ever destination, and now it is a key part of the airline's network. The route will provide the first-class product between two key JetBlue focus cities, and will complement the existing Mint service offered on longer routes.

The decision to add BlueFirst on this city pair comes as the airline analysed its network and the demand from customers for premium travel on the route. BlueFirst was first unveiled in September and will bring together enhanced comfort and upgraded food and beverage options. Intuitive technology also looks to provide passengers with a 13.3-inch seatback screen, with Bluetooth connectivity.
BlueFirst passengers can look forward to the Tuft & Needle T&N Flex foam seating, with up to five inches (12.7 cm) of seat recline, and seven inches (17.8 cm) of additional legroom when compared to the standard Main cabin seats. On flights of more than 899 miles (1,438 km), customers will enjoy a composed meal featuring an entree, side, and dessert.
Simplified Fare Options To Meet Various Travel Needs
For BlueFirst passengers, there will be a range of simplified fare options that cater to various travel needs. BlueFirst includes two checked bags and advanced seat selection with no change or cancellation fees, while BlueFirst Flex adds refunds to the original form of payment before scheduled departure, as well as no fees for same-day switches or standby.
BlueFirst Base is the lowest fare option, which includes one checked bag, priority check-in, security, and Group 1 boarding. Seat selection is available for free only within 24 hours of departure, and any changes or cancellations may incur a fee.
With Boston and Fort Lauderdale becoming the airline's first routes with the new cabin, other planned routes include Fort Lauderdale to LaGuardia, Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BUF), Liberia (LIR), and
Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). View the full list of planned destinations here.
