BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO) - South Dakota State University has moved up to number one since it last played on Oct. 3 in a 31-14 victory Illinois State University.
The Jackrabbits, however, don't face an easier road with the new number next to their name, as they go on the road to take on the University of North Dakota, which is ranked 11th in the country. Head coach Dan Jackson held his weekly press conference on Tuesday, and talked about the high-power offense the Fighting Hawks have.
"They score a lot of points," Jackson said. "When you look at the top teams we've played in terms of explosive plays created on the season, North Dakota's at the top. They can throw the ball deep, and create big, explosive plays that way. They can run the football effectively, and they've got talented running backs that can create explosive plays."
SDSU will make the trip to Grand Forks, North Dakota to take on the Fighting Hawks on Saturday, with kickoff set for 1 p.m. The game will be streamed on Midco Sports and ESPN+.
