VERMILLION, S.D. (KELO) — The University of South Dakota Coyotes football team has won back to back games and will look to make it a winning streak this weekend when they take on the Murray State Racers on the road.
The Coyotes offense was stellar against Southern Illinois this past weekend as Austyn Modrzewski tossed 2 touchdowns and 268 yards while Charles Pierre Jr. Added 138 on the ground and scored as well.
Even though his team is firing on all cylinders right now, Head Coach Matt Vitzthum knows the opponent will be dangerous, especially coming off a bye week.
"I mean I try not to put a lot of thought into it, but it's definitely the reality of the situation. I think about how much we could use a bye right now to improve our health, I'm sure that's helped them, I'm sure they've had a great week of prep. I alway love the bye because you get to take an internal look about things that are going well, things that you maybe though you're doing well but you're not doing well and you can throw those out," Vitzthum said.
The Coyotes and Racers kick off at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday.
