Royals, they're just like us! Well… not really, but when it comes to rewearing favorite outfits, you've got more in common with Princess Sofia of Spain than you may think!
On October 12, Princess Sofia, alongside her father, King Felipe VI, mother, Queen Letizia, and sister, Princess Leonor, celebrated the 2026 National Day of Spain in Madrid with Sofia wearing a beautifully tailored, slightly slouchy pantsuit in a saturated shade of candy apple red. The suit consisted of a double-breasted jacket with big gold buttons, which hit at mid-thigh, and a matching pair of straight-legged trousers with a sharp crease. Sofia let the bold red suit do the heavy lifting, outfit-wise, and paired it with subdued nude slingback flats, middle-parted soft wavy hair, and equally soft, subtle makeup. She skipped jewelry and nail polish, as royals don't often wear polish.

But this isn't the first time we've seen this red suit in action! Sofia actually wore it for an event in Oviedo almost exactly one year ago; she and her sister, Crown Princess Leonor, each wore suits then, with Leonor in navy and Sofia in red. Red seems to be one of Sofia's favorite shades to wear; after all, it is one of the main colors in Spain's flag. To celebrate Spain's World Cup win, she wore the reverse of her sister's outfit, choosing a red top and off-white crepe pants to Leonor's white top and red pants. Their parents also wore red, likely to match the team's home jerseys.

Of course, rewearing items is now fairly common for royals, driven in part by Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales. The Princess often rewears items from her designer-filled closet, even reaching back nearly 20 years to pull out pieces that are practically vintage by now! It's a simple way to shop and dress more sustainably, not to mention revisit those special pieces that make you feel so good!
