Brazilian technology and leadership higher education institute Inteli (Instituto de Tecnologia e Liderança) has formally registered as an official Scientific, Technological, and Innovation Institution (ICT) in Brazil and launched a quantum research initiative in collaboration with IBM (NYSE: IBM).
Through direct cloud access to utility-scale quantum systems via the IBM Quantum Platform, Inteli researchers and faculty will explore quantum algorithms for simulating complex economic scenarios and optimizing decision-making under uncertainty. The partnership aims to build technical quantum computing capabilities in Latin America, focusing on practical industrial applications across supply chain logistics, financial modeling, and strategic risk analysis.

Expanding Quantum Information Science Capabilities in Latin America
The collaboration highlights IBM’s ongoing strategy to expand its quantum ecosystem throughout Latin America by pairing academic institutions with enterprise quantum hardware. As a newly designated ICT, Inteli joins a growing network of research bodies in Brazil equipped to run workloads on utility-scale quantum hardware.
By applying quantum simulation and optimization techniques to stochastic decision-making problems, the research initiative seeks to demonstrate algorithmic advantages over classical heuristic solvers when modeling multi-variable, highly uncertain economic environments.
