I like to think that high-street coats are my specialist subject. I own a lot - in fact, I have a whole cupboard in the spare room that just contains coats and jackets. Yes, I have a problem, but more importantly, I've learnt a lot about where to shop the best coats on the high street and one brand stands out: Mango.
I once got chatting to a stylist on a shoot and she told me that Mango was the place to go for affordable pieces that look designer. It does require a lot of editing, but the good stuff is there if you're willing to look. One area where the brand excel is tailoring and, specifically, great winter coats. Don't believe me? Maybe you'll believe Sienna Miller who was recently spotted in Mango's Tailored Wool Coat in classic navy.

At £229.99, it's perhaps not the cheapest coat on the high street, but it's a cotton and wool blend and in a dark navy, it looks way more luxe than the price tag suggests. Pair (like Sienna) with the brand's sky blue poplin shirt and wool suit trousers (while I've got you, Mango is also great for affordable suiting – I have a pair of pin-stripe grey trousers I bought about five years ago that I still love; they fall perfectly).
Here are five more gorgeous Mango coats that hopefully prove my point and will add a touch of luxe to your winter wardrobe.
This wool coat taps into one of the biggest coat trends we saw on the catwalks for autumn/winter 2026: oversized silhouettes. This, along with the woven wool fabric (in a subtle check) is what makes it look more expensive than it is. I love the chocolate brown but it also comes in black and a chic grey or biscuit shade (the latter two are currently reduced to under £100).
If you like a bold pop of colour from your coat, this is the one I'd choose. Red is the shade of the season and this 100% wool design also comes with a very autumn 2026 funnel-neck.
A 100% wool coat for £120 is a real find and the natural fabric brings both breathability and temperature-regulating capabilities. This one also comes in a charcoal grey and a fawn shade if you want something more muted. And it looks as good with the funnel-neck done up as it does without.
Belted blanket coats are another big trend this season and I adore the mink shade of this one, which looks good with everything from chocolate to burgundy and chartreuse.
It's another wool blend option and you can easily wear it without the belt if you prefer, turning it into a classic double-breasted style.
This full-length camel coat, meanwhile, looks impossibly chic and will stay in your wardrobe for years. My mum has a camel coat she's worn for decades and it still looks fabulous.
This one comes with a detachable scarf, which is great for this season and the rise of the scarf coat, but can be removed when the trends inevitably move on. Wear simply with your favourite blue jeans, chunky knit jumper and white pumps.
Finally, Mango is getting involved in the Bambi print that's so popular right now. If you want a coat that everyone's going to stop you to ask about, this is the one. I love it with the purple tights.
For those days when the outfit is the coat.
