SHAH ALAM: A man was killed when the Perodua Myvi he was driving crashed into the rear of a container lorry parked by the roadside in Puncak Alam today.
The crash occurred about 8am along Jalan U10/99 in the Alam Awana Industrial Area, Section U10.
The driver, believed to be in his 20s, was trapped in his seat and suffered severe head injuries.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the department received an emergency call at 8.14am before a team from the Bukit Jelutong fire and rescue station arrived about 10 minutes later.
"Seven personnel and two fire engines were dispatched to the scene to carry out the rescue operation.
"The trapped victim was freed from the driver's seat before being pronounced dead by Health Ministry personnel," he said in a statement today.
He said the victim's body was later handed over to the police for further action.
