Manchester City 5 (Elliot Anderson 12′, Phil Foden 34′, 65′, 76′, Rayan Cherki 57′)
AEK Athens 1 (Stavros Pilios 52′)
Here are the City player ratings as Manchester City beat AEK Athens 5-1 to make it two wins out of three in the UEFA Champions League league phase. Phil Foden scored a hat trick and goals from Rayan Cherki and Elliot Anderson sealed City’s win. Enzo Maresca’s side were given a scare when Stavros Pilios made it 2-1 in the 52nd minute. From that point onwards, City put their foot down to come away with the three points they needed after their defeat to PSG last week.
City player ratings.
Gianluigi Donnarumma-6/10: Rarely called upon in goal and some of his passing was good, and on other occasions not so.
Rico Lewis-8.5/10: These are the games that suit Rico Lewis. He picked up two assists and he worked tirelessly on City’s right-hand side.
Abdukodir Khusanov- 7.5/10: Khusanov looked much more comfortable at centre-back. His recovery pace and strength helped quell the threat of AEK Athens on multiple occasions.
Ruben Dias- 6.5/10: Manchester City’s captain did what he had to do tonight, nothing more.
Josko Gvardiol-7/10: As usual Gvardiol offered a threat going forward. Hopefully the knock he received isn’t too serious.
Elliot Anderson-8/10: Anderson scored his first City goal and he was good both in and out of possession.
Enzo Fernandez-7/10: Another good display from Enzo Fernandez without being spectacular.
Allan-7.5/10: I really liked Allan’s game on the left wing. He made several dangerous runs and he looks to be a real weapon with the ball at his feet. A promising display from him.
Rayan Cherki-8.5/10: I thought Cherki was untidy early before he grew into the game. Some of his tricks and flicks were sublime as was his goal.

Phil Foden-10/10: An absolutely brilliant performance from Foden. His hat trick capped off his night and his touch and confidence looks to be back.
Floyd Samba- 7/10: Samba was lively throughout and it was his run which set up the free kick for Elliot Anderson’s goal. I liked his work out of possession hence the 7/10 for his display.
Substitutes
Ryan McAidoo-7/10: McAidoo was lively after coming on and grabbed an assist for his efforts.
Rayan Ait-Nouri-6/10: Ait-Nouri came on late with the game won and had some nice touches.
Vitor Reis-6/10: He was involved in the build up to Foden’s third goal and he is a player I want to see play more often.
Kaden Braithwaite-6/10: It was good to him get on the pitch late on.
