The Premier League season may only be five games in at the moment but, changes are already being mooted.
Liverpool came into the 2026-27 campaign hoping that they'd be able to do better than they did last term with some summer signings potentially helping them achieve that.
In the end, four new players were welcomed through the Anfield doors and, while Ronald Araujo and Victor Munoz have helped make things better at Anfield, more improvements still need to be made.
The fact that Mohamed Salah still hasn't been properly replaced yet is a tad concerning with the performances of some of their other players also far from ideal.
This lack of form that has been shown has caused many different rumours to emerge with one Liverpool star now having his future more or less confirmed.
Liverpool want to sign Konstantinos Tzolakis
At the moment, Liverpool have Alisson and Giorgi Mamardashvili between the sticks.
Between them, they're probably one of the best starting and back-up goalkeeper duos in the Premier League.
But, some of Mamardashvili's performances last season made fans question whether he was really ready to become a big part of the Reds' plans.
In the end, Liverpool decided that he wasn't and chose to trigger Alisson's extension that he had built into his contract.
This caused many different rumours to emerge and, with Liverpool signing Lucca Brughmans, the pressure was put onto Mamardashvili's shoulders.
Because, if he doesn't perform well when called upon, he can kiss his starting spot for Liverpool goodbye.
And, since Iraola's men are now being linked with Konstantinos Tzolakis from Hull City, it's clear that the Anfield outfit aren't fully sold on keeping Alisson around for much longer.
"Liverpool is closely monitoring Konstantinos Tzolakis, Hull City's goalkeeper, with an eye on the upcoming transfer window. The next Liverpool transfer window will focus on revamping their goalkeeping department," Fichajes wrote.
"As reported by sources from the Premier League on October 6, 2026, the Anfield board is monitoring the performances of the Greek international, noting a price tag set by his club at 40 million pounds.
"Despite the interest in Tzolakis, Liverpool's technical department currently has three goalkeeping specialists in their squad: Alisson Becker, Giorgi Mamardashvili, and Vítězslav Jaroš.
"Any formal proposal from Merseyside's board will depend on prior outgoing transfers in that position during the summer of 2027.
Alisson and Giorgi Mamardashvili could both end up being replaced next summer
At the moment, most fans believe that Mamardashvili will take over from Alisson.
But, that may not end up being the case if things don't go his way.
Brughmans is in the form of his like for KRC Genk and, even though he's only 18 years old, he could end up making an attempt at becoming Liverpool's starter.
And, now that Tzolakis is also being linked with a switch, there's no knowing what the future has in store for any of them.
If Alisson exits, the starting place for Liverpool will be open and, whoever is given a chance to fight for it will have a lot of competitions to come up against.
Liverpool signing Tzolakis would make a lot of sense but, if he is brought in, some serious questions will need to be asked about the futures of the Brazilian and the Georgian.
Because, at the end of the day, there's only room for two decent goalkeepers in every team and, if things go as they are, Alisson
