The Nigerian Telehealth Conference 2026 will focus on policy, financing, regulation, and digital infrastructure needed to expand telehealth services across Nigeria, the organiser has said.
During the conference, the organiser added that stakeholders would move from discussions to nationwide implementation.
The conference, tagged NTC 2.0, is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at the Afreximbank African Trade Centre, Abuja, with both physical and virtual participation.
In an announcement, the convener of the conference, Dr Funmi Adewara, said the event would build on previous discussions on digital healthcare and explore practical approaches to expanding access to telehealth services in the country.
With the theme, “The Future of Healthcare is Connected – CLICK & BRICK,” the conference will focus on “Scaling Telehealth: From Policy to Nationwide Implementation.”
Adewara said the gathering would mark a shift from conversations and commitments towards practical implementation.
“This year’s conference will bring together government leaders, policymakers, regulators, healthcare professionals, technology innovators, investors and development partners to address the critical priorities for scaling telehealth across Nigeria,” she said.
According to the announcement, discussions would cover the advancement of the National Telemedicine Guidelines and regulatory frameworks to support the delivery and expansion of telehealth services.
Participants will also examine how telehealth can be integrated into National Health Insurance Authority reimbursement arrangements and Universal Health Coverage, alongside financing mechanisms and incentives to encourage nationwide adoption.
The conference will further explore the use of artificial intelligence, interoperability and digital health infrastructure to support connected healthcare services.
Other areas of focus will include strengthening the capacity of the healthcare workforce, connecting underserved communities and building public-private partnerships to support sustainable implementation.
Adewara stressed the importance of cooperation among stakeholders in expanding digital healthcare, noting that coordinated efforts would be necessary to achieve meaningful progress.
“We cannot build the future of healthcare in silos. Progress requires collaboration, collective action, and the active participation of every stakeholder,” she said.
Adewara, who is also the Founder & CEO of Mobihealth International, added, “We would be delighted to welcome our previous NTC community back, reconnect, and explore how we can collectively accelerate access to affordable, quality healthcare for every Nigerian.”
