Kathmandu, October 16
Infrastructure Development Minister Sunil Lamsal has said efforts have been intensified to reopen the Narapass-Hilsa section of the Karnali Corridor, which has been blocked by heavy snowfall, within three days.
Minister Lamsal said on Friday through social media that a division team under the ministry was working in hazardous conditions to clear the blocked road.
Traffic along the road section has been disrupted by heavy snow accumulation in the Naurpani area, located at an altitude of around 4,500 metres above sea level. Necessary equipment and personnel have been deployed to clear the snow, Lamsal said.
He said the road clearance work had been given high priority to facilitate Nepali citizens who had travelled north to Taklakot in China through the Hilsa border crossing for employment to return home for the festive season.
The team has been mobilised with the target of fully reopening the road within three days.
