Beauty and personal care company Innovist nearly tripled its operating revenue in FY26, while its net profit rose 87% in the same period, as the business grew its sales. However, higher spending on advertising, promotions, and sales commissions added to its overall costs.
Innovist, operated by Onesto Labs, reported revenue from operations of Rs 685.7 crore in FY26, compared with Rs 246.7 crore in FY25, its consolidated financial statements sourced from the RoC show.
The company operates in the cosmetics and beauty products segment, with manufacturing facilities in India. It sells primarily through online marketplaces, its own website, and third-party offline stores.
Revenue from product sales was the primary source of operating revenue during FY26, which stood at Rs 676.3 crore against Rs 239.1 crore in FY25. Other operating revenue, which includes shipping and scrap sales, increased to Rs 9.4 crore during the last fiscal year.
The expansion also came with higher spending on customer acquisition and sales. Advertising and promotional expenses accounted for 40% of its overall cost, which rose more than 3X to Rs 262 crore in FY26 from Rs 84.2 crore in FY25. It also spent Rs 92 crore on commissions to sole selling agents, up from Rs 15 crore a year earlier.
Cost of materials consumed increased to Rs 162 crore from Rs 79 crore, while employee benefit expenses more than doubled to Rs 39 crore from Rs 19 crore.
Overall, Innovist’s total expenses increased to Rs 662 crore in FY26 from Rs 250 crore in FY25. Despite this increase, the company reported a profit before tax of Rs 30.5 crore, compared with a loss before tax of Rs 55 lakh in FY25.
The company’s tax expense rose to Rs 8.9 crore in FY26, including deferred tax expense of Rs 7.8 crore. Its net profit consequently reached Rs 21.5 crore during the year. Its total current assets stood at Rs 303 crore in FY26, including cash and bank balances of Rs 81 crore.
The financials point to a business that has expanded its sales base while remaining profitable. However, advertising and promotional expenses alone accounted for around 38% of operating revenue, making the returns on its sales and marketing investments an important metric to watch. As Innovist scales further, its ability to sustain revenue growth while improving the efficiency of customer acquisition and distribution costs will shape its profitability.
