(ANSA) - ROMA, 12 OTT - Ten Italian companies from the transportation, energy, water, and irrigation sectors participated in a trade mission to the Philippines, organized by the ICE Agency in collaboration with the Italian Embassy. The delegation also included SACE, SIMEST, and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP).
The mission aimed to facilitate the entry and consolidation of Italian companies in the infrastructure sector and to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation. Particular attention was given to the “Luzon Economic Corridor,” a project in which Italy is participating and which aims to promote strategic investments in infrastructure, energy, digital connectivity, and advanced manufacturing.
The first day took place at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), where the delegation met with Vice President Roberta Casali and Executive Director Ivan Faiella, who represents the group of countries that includes Italy. The program included presentations on how to collaborate with the Bank and individual meetings with experts from various sectors of intervention.
The following day, the companies were received at the Department of Finance by Minister Frederick D. Go. The meetings explored the Luzon Economic Corridor project and investment opportunities in the Philippine market.
The mission concluded with meetings between Italian companies and 23 Philippine firms. CDP, SIMEST, and SACE also outlined the Italian public financial instruments designed to support the internationalization and commercial presence of companies in the country.
The initiative followed Italy’s participation in the Asian Development Bank’s “Business Opportunity Fair” last September, as part of its growth diplomacy efforts.
