Bears QB Caleb Williams Responds to High Praise from Tom Brady

Caleb Williams returned to the field for the Chicago Bears following a three-game absence with the hamstring strain he suffered in Week 2, leading his team to a 31-23 victory over the Atlanta Falcons on the road.

Williams completed 30 of his 36 pass attempts for 305 yards and one passing touchdown to tight end Colston Loveland.

While Williams has certainly had more flashy stat lines in his young NFL career, this game in particular caught the attention of all-time great quarterback Tom Brady.

Brady, who was in the broadcast booth for this Week 6 matchup, called this the best performance of Williams' career.

"I didn't know I went 30-for-36. I've got to go back and watch the tape. Winning covers up things, and losing shows everything. We'll go back, be true tellers about ourselves, look in the mirror, and figure out what we need to fix and get better at," Williams said postgame when informed of Brady's praise.

“You’re itching on the sideline during the season,” Williams added postgame. “I’ve had a hamstring injury before, but it was at the end of the year. I had three weeks to be able to get back and play. And so being able sit back and recover, recover, recover. And when I get back just to show who I am and who we are.”

Despite Williams' three-game absence, the Bears are still 4-2 to begin the 2026 season. Chicago now turns its attention toward a "Thursday Night Football" matchup against the New England Patriots in Week 7.
