A man who died following an alleged fatal stabbing at a Brisbane home has been remembered as having a “heart of gold” by his heartbroken family.
Daniel Evian, 32, died in hospital following an alleged altercation that left him seriously injured at a home on Barcelona St at Wishart home about 4am on Saturday.
A Cornubia man, Robert Keith Hickson, 32, was arrested and has since had his charge of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm upgraded to murder.

In a fundraiser set up to give him a “deserving farewell”, Mr Evian’s family paid tribute to him while revealing they were grappling to understand how he died so suddenly.
Jasmin Evian said her brother had “heart of gold” and was a hard worker.
“You will always be my brother, and that is something death can never take away,” she said.
“To those who knew and loved him, he was someone who would give you the shirt off his own back without hesitation.
“He was always willing to lend a helping hand, support those around him and be there for others when they needed him. His kindness, generosity and the person he was will never be forgotten.”

Ms Evian said no family should have to experience the sudden loss of a loved one in such devastating circumstances.
“By coming together, we can show Daniel’s family that they are not alone and that the love Daniel gave so freely throughout his life continues through the kindness and generosity of others,” she said.
“Rest peacefully, Daniel. You were taken far too soon, at an age when you had so much more life to live.
“Your heart of gold, your kindness and the memories you leave behind will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved you.”
