Jakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Downstreaming and Energy Transition Bahlil Lahadalia has assured that national fuel reserves remain at secure levels, following a comprehensive report delivered to President Prabowo Subianto during a plenary cabinet meeting last Wednesday (October 21).
Bahlil—who also serves as Energy and Mineral Resources Minister—said in a statement that reserves for subsidized fuel Pertalite (RON 90) currently stand at 16 to 18 days, while all other fuel categories remain well above national minimum standards.
Addressing recent fuel supply disruptions in Bali, Bahlil explained that the shortage was caused by distribution bottlenecks stemming from delayed tanker arrivals from East Java, rather than a lack of national inventory.
Authorities have since resolved the issue, restoring fuel stocks in Bali to a safe 12-day supply.
To mitigate future risks, the government is actively anticipating potential distribution disruptions caused by seasonal weather and geographical hurdles, such as river silting in Kalimantan and the Asmat region of Papua.
Meanwhile, national liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) reserves exceed a 13-day average, with other energy commodities holding over 20 days of stock.
In a move to strengthen energy procurement governance, Bahlil noted that President Prabowo has signed a presidential regulation enabling direct procurement of crude oil, fuel, and LPG via government-to-government (G2G) schemes managed through a Public Service Agency (BLU).
The government also touted progress in import substitution, confirming that Indonesia has entirely ceased imports of standard CN48 diesel fuel, though specialized CN51 imports continue.
In the electricity sector, Bahlil confirmed that recent power outages in Batam have been resolved—emphasizing the government's commitment to preventing rolling blackouts nationwide.
He emphasized that the government continues to strengthen the reliability of the national electricity system to ensure that people across all regions of Indonesia receive a stable power supply.
“Our current objective for the power sector is to ensure that there are no more rolling blackouts in any region,” Bahlil concluded.
